How I Rapidly Grew My Email List!

So I will be the first to admit that when I want to accomplish something, I like it to get done in a timely manner. When I really got into the nitty gritty of blogging and my online business I went in guns blazing! However, that’s not always the best idea if you don’t know what you are doing.

Growing your email list is hard. Period. When you go to someones website and a pop up appears asking you to “subscribe to their newsletter,” or “join their email list” 99% of the time you are going to x out of it. So the question stands; How the heck do you get email subscribers?

Well I will tell you!

Incentives! To get someone to subscribe to your blog, you need to offer them something. And it can’t just be something random. You need to think about what your readers want from you. What kind of blog do you have? Fashion? Lifestyle? Food? You could offer things like: A 10 Step Guide to Staying Organized, or A Weekly Meal Plan. Something that pertains to your blog or website.

Or are you running a business? Offer a discount on one of your services to your first time subscribers. Really want to get them hooked AND make money? Make that offer only last for 48 hours. When I first visit a website and I see something like; “Sign up for our email list and receive 20% off your first order!” I snag that up, because who doesn’t love a discount? Then when I get the email, it’s telling me I have to use that offer in the next 48 hours or it will expire. That gives me more incentive to shop now, rather than save the email for later use and most likely I will end up forgetting about it.

Here are some samples of incentives I have made, I use Canva and PicMonkey so create all of my stuff.

A weekly business plan, and Pin Like A Pro! That comes with over 100 custom board covers. Super simple, but these are both items my readers can benefit from!

Now how do you do this easily, without hardly any technical skills?

The answer my friends is ConvertKit. I was previously using MailChimp and it wasn’t as easy as I wanted it to be. Plus I was always running into problems with it, my emails weren’t going out when they should and people weren’t getting the info they signed up for. SO I had to do something about it!

I am in NO WAY  shape or form, tech savvy. So trying something new scares me because I don’t want to spend hours figuring it out! ConvertKit is SO simple! You can sign up for my mini Convert Kit course and for a limited time get 30 days of ConvertKit FREE, exclusively for my students!  Who doesn’t love FREE!

I wanted to prove my theory worked, so a fellow blogging newbie (and client of mine) let me test my strategy on her (and also let me take screen shots for my tutorial) and she got 8 new subscribers in her first 7 days! She has only been blogging for a little over a month! How cool is that?! Thanks Becca! (UPDATE!) Becca reached almost 1000 subscribers in less than two months! You can do it too!

Think about it, if you averaged 1 subscriber a day (you will do more!) you will have a strong list going in no time! And with a strong list comes the opportunity for you to make money!

So enter your info below and start building up your list! You won’t regret it!

I am terrible with growing my email list because I am not one to try and shove signing up down people’s throats. I know that’s not necessarily what it entails – but I hate when I go to blogs and immediately there is a SUBSCRIBE TO ME pop up. I almost immediately click out of the site. And I don’t want to be a hypocrite.

Yes that’s why incentives are great! You can write a post and then mention your incentive. Pop ups are spammy and people don’t like that!
